University of Gothenburg (UGOT)

UGOT-logoThe University of Gothenburg (UGOT) has approximately 50,000 students (25,000 full-time students) and 5,000 employees. All faculties of UGOT are involved in EU-funded research and about 110 projects in FP6 are running and approx. 70 projects in FP7 have started. The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology hosts, as the only university department in Sweden, Marine Chemistry, and it has all the facilities associated with a large research-oriented university. It also has the largest number of chemistry majors in Sweden. Marine research is one of the profile research areas of UGOT, and the Swedish Government recently started a National Marine Environmental Institute at UGOT. In addition, a Centre for Marine Multidisciplinary Research has recently been installed at UGOT.
