The Challenger Society for Marine Sciences represents the UK marine sciences community and is sponsored by the National Oceanography Centre and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory. It has several Special Interest Groups from marine optics to ocean modelling, to marine biogeochemistry to marine technology. The biannual Challenger Conference for Marine Sciences attracts over 300 UK marine scientists and engineers, science managers and early-career researchers to cover themes such as ocean acidification, marine ecosystem models, polar oceans, climate change and deep-sea mining.
FixO3 is present at the Challenger Conference with several abstracts on the project progresses over the first year, the economic value of ocean observations and research carried out at NOC observatories PAP, NOG and SOG.
