The EGU General Assembly 2016 held in Vienna on the 18-22 April 2016 included 4,863 oral, 10,320 poster, and 947 PICO presentations. 619 unique scientific sessions together with 321 side events created an interesting programme attended by 13,650 scientists from 109 countries.
FixO3 was represented at EGU2016 by Project Manager Luisa Cristini and several partners. Luisa co-chaired a session on new results and technological advances at open ocean in situ observatories. Talks covered measurements of essential ocean variables and the discussion around what variables are needed for what research and what is feasible to measure with the current instrumentation. New technology was presented from both marine research centres as well as industry and FixO3 videography was screened at the oral session. Luisa also presented the poster on FixO3 latest results and how to access them.
